Before I moved to Victoria, I never would have thought of the name as anything other than a woman's first name. Now that I do live here, I find it unusual to think of other places with the same name as our fair city but, did you know there are an even dozen more in the good 'ol USA?

According to Wikepedia, there are places names Victoria in Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Lousiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Now you're curious about the others in the U.S., aren't you?

Having been born and raised in Michigan, I can honestly say I've never heard of this one. It is located not too far from Ironwood, Michigan, where I got fired from my very first radio job a long, long, time ago.

8. Victoria, Minnesota

Another small town but, we're getting bigger. Victoria, Minnesota has a population of 7,345 and, being in the state dubbed 'Land of 10,000 Lakes,' the city has been dubbed 'The City of Lakes and Parks' because it's the home of over 200 acres of reserved land and 13 parks and 9 lakes.

9. Victoria, Mississippi

Another unincorporated area located in the northern part of the state's Marshall County. About the only thing this mention has going for it is the fact that I spelled Mississippi correctly without having to look it up.

Not a town but, an historic home at Charlotte in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. This 1895 built home is in the National Register of Historic Places.
