Earlier today, we caught our first look at a new scene from 'True Blood' season 6 that featured a major character letting loose some serious anger, but that has nothing on what new showrunner Brian Buckner has in store for the HBO drama's sixth year. Joe Manganiello (Alcide Herveaux) previewed what fans can expect from Buckner's work on the new season, and it sounds even sexier and crazier than before!

'True Blood' has always gone to extremes in its first five seasons, but according to series star Joe Manganiello, new showrunner Brian Buckner has some big plans in store for the June 16 premiere. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Manganiello previewed that “He’s letting loose a lot of the things that he’s wanted to do the past few years and maybe didn’t get around to doing.”

As for Manganiello's werewolf character Alcide Herveaux, “He’s in charge of this unruly group of werewolves, and it’s not the best job in the world. I’ll just say that.” Manganiello also confirmed that his character would have a bit more sexy-time with the ladies this year, but "whether or not there are Hong Kong wires, I don’t want to give any of that away. But we definitely get into some territory that hasn’t been covered yet on True Blood. I thought I’d done it all, seen it all, but they somehow found a way to top last year.”

Along with the showrunner swap changing from Mark Hudis to Bryan Buckner, season 5 guest star and former ‘Last Resort’ star Robert Patrick has been upgraded to series regular, while ‘True Blood’ season 6 also features the return of Anna Camp‘s Sarah Newlin, Luke Grimes as the “Jim Morrison of vampires,” ‘House‘s' Karolina Wydra, Rutger Hauer as mysterious vampire Macklyn, ‘Rubicon’s’ Arliss Howard as  Louisiana Governor Truman Burrell, and ‘Eastenders’ star Robert Kazinsky as a series regular and new Fae love interest to Sookie.

Few other details are available on the sixth season of HBO’s fang-banging hit, though it’s known that ‘True Blood’ season 6 will take place over 10 episodes, down from the usual 12, largely to accommodate series star Anna Paquin’s pregnancy with co-star Stephen Moyer.
