This is National Work Zone Awareness Week
Welcome to National Work Zone Awareness Week!
I had no idea that there was such a thing because drivers should use caution not only in work zones but, everywhere they drive.
Victoria Police remind those of us in the Crossroads that work zones can be dangerous for the men and women who work there and, for drivers. They also offer these tips:
Be observant of warning signs and barricades indicating you are approaching a work zone
Slow down
Move over to a safe lane before entering the work zone
Minimize distractions
Expect the unexpected
Watch for changing traffic patterns
Don’t tailgate
Watch for workers and their equipment
Be patient
If necessary, take an alternate route.
Remember, road work means progress!
