That’s right, Alfalfa, Spanky, Buckwheat, Darla and the rest of the gang will be coming back together for Universal Pictures reboot of ‘The Little Rascals,’ and it looks like they’ve found the director to run this project.

The studio has chosen relatively unknown director Alex Zamm, who’s credits include the kid-friendly works ‘Tooth Fairy 2,’ ‘Inspector Gadget 2′ and ‘Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2,’ to bring these characters back to life. This latest version of ‘The Little Rascals’ is based on both the ‘Our Gang’ TV series and the 1994 feature.

Moviehole, who broke the story, says Universal can get a start on filming in Los Angeles next month, assuming they can fill the cast by then. Though the original film grossed upwards of $67 million worldwide, we can’t help but think of the other reboot of an old series, ‘The Three Stooges,’ which didn’t do so hot at the box office.
