Just when we thought we couldn't be more excited for 'The Heat,' a new clip pops up online and reminds us that this looks like the comedy to beat this summer. Let's be honest here: how could you not be looking forward to a buddy cop comedy starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy and directed by Paul Feig? Your answer to that will determine whether or not you like laughing.

Our first clip from the film, coming courtesy of MTV, finds the mismatched duo of Ashburn (Bullock) and Mullins (McCarthy) barging in on a criminal, demanding information. When he remains mum, they break out the old-school (aka '80s cop movie cliche) interrogation tactics -- they dangle him off the balcony by his feet. Naturally, things don't go as planned, hilarity ensues, etc.

'The Heat' feels like it could be something truly special. When cast in the right roles, Bullock and McCarthy can be hilarious and appealing performers, and the thought of them as mismatched partners is inherently amusing. Then you've got Feig in the director's chair, a man who brought us the classic 'Freaks and Geeks' and the wonderful 'Bridesmaids' (which, you may remember, earned McCarthy an Oscar nomination). The one potential wild card in this lineup is screenwriter Kate Dippold, but she writes for 'Parks and Recreation,' so we're pretty sure she's golden.

'The Heat' opens on June 28. Check out the first clip for yourself below and let us know what you think of the movie so far in the comments.
