Texas School Threatens Student With Felony Charges for Using $2 Bill

If you've ever seen the movie Idiocracy then this story will probably scare the shit out of you because it appears we're headed in that direction.

Ft. Bend County (near Houston TX) officials are under scrutiny today for the sheer stupidity they showed towards one of their students recently. A 13 year old 8th grader at Christa McAuliffe Middle School went to lunch like normal one day. She ordered the chicken nuggets and got in line to pay for her meal when it happened.

The lunch lady taking her money grew suspicious when the little girl pulled out a $2 bill to pay for her food. Upon examination of the currency, the lunch lady sent the poor girl to the school's police officer's office. There, the school cop told the girl she is in some serious trouble. 3rd degree felony trouble. The girl is obviously scared at this point.

You'd think it would end there and everyone would come to their senses and admit the screw up. Nope. The school cop then asks where the girl got the bill from. The girl explains that she got the bill from her grandmother to pay for lunch. Officials call the grandmother to the school and interrogate her asking where she got the bill. The cop then goes to the gas station where the grandmother received the bill from who then sends the cop to the bank where THEY got it from. And that's where the tale ends.

You see, it took all these school officials, a cop, a store clerk and hours of wasted time, energy and money for the school cop to learn a valuable lesson from a bank employee.....$2 bills are a real thing.

All these educated people thought this poor little girl was trying to steal some $2 chicken nuggets and pay for it with currency they believed to be non existent. These people, who are educating the youth of the country, are this inept and clueless. If I were the grandmother I'd pull my child out of that school with the quickness.

This is the direction of this country folks. Sad, but true.

There has not been any admission of fault or not even so much as an apology issued by the school for this. Way to lead by example.
