A John Jay High School assistant coach told his school principal that he ordered his players to hit a referee in retaliation for racist language during a Sept. 4 game versus Marble Falls.

You remember the blog I posted last week showing two players intentionally targeting the referee right? Well John Jay High School assistant coach Mack Breed admitted to school principal Robert Harris in a letter that he "directed the students to make the referee pay for his racial comments and calls."

It still isn't clear what the referee said, if anything, since he has yet to tell his side of the story. One thing is clear though. In my opinion this coach not only needs to lose his job and never be allowed to coach kids again. But, he should also face charges just like those players are.

Sophomore Victor Rojas, 15, and senior Michael Moreno, 17, Wednesday will both attend Northside Independent School District disciplinary hearings to determine their standing with the school. The University Interscholastic League (UIL) will have its own meeting Thursday in Round Rock, Texas where it will address the issue as well.

Nothing has been reported as to what punishment the coach faces. I'll keep you posted as more becomes available.
