The Houston Texans sucked yesterday. There's really no nice way of saying it...they just sucked.

A returning Arian Foster wasn't enough to get that spark going on offense as he was held to 8 carries for just 10 measly yards. When your star running back has that kind of game, it isn't going to be pretty. And it was not. The Falcons held a 42-0 lead going into the 4th quarter Sunday afternoon.

Texans coach Bill O'Brien had seen enough from QB Ryan Mallett and decided to bench the starter for his backup Brian Hoyer. Which seemed to pan out considering Hoyer lead the Texans on 3 scoring drives in the 4th quarter alone.

Problems arose for the Texans from the get go. Arian Foster had a ball knocked out of his hands on a run by his own teammate who, after a 2nd and 4rd look, seemed to reach in on purpose to knock the ball out. What the hell?

I'm sure that will be discussed at length in the team meeting today.

Coach O'Brien was quick to jump in front of the cameras and blame himself for the loss but Texans players were also quick to come to the coaches defense. Which, I might add, was the strongest defense we saw out of the team yesterday.

The Texans are back at home on Thursday night against the visiting Indianapolis Colts. Luckily, the entire division looks horrible so the Texans going 1-3 isn't that bad considering how the other teams in the division are performing. Andrew Luck may make his return to the Colts on Thursday but that has not been finalized and probably won't be until game day.

Either way the Texans need to recover and quick. Find what works and stick with it. Until this team invests in a franchise quarterback Texans fans can keep expecting this kind of mediocrity in their team. Sad but true.
