After last week's 44-26 beat down at the hands of the Miami Dolphins, the Houston Texans had to do something to get back on track and they certainly made a good start yesterday by beating the downtrodden Titans 20-6.

Brian Hoyer threw 2 touchdown passes in the effort although the running game was pretty much non existent with franchise running back Arian Foster once again out for the season.

However, it was the defense who were the real stars of the show holding Tennessee to only 197 total yards which was a huge turnaround from the 500+ yards allowed to Miami just one week prior.

The Texans defense recorded 7 sacks against the Titans which ties a franchise records for most sacks in a game. Whitney Mercilus led the team with 3.5 sacks, JJ Watt had 2.5 and Jarred Crick had 1 sack. Titans quarterback Zach Mettenberger spent a great deal of time on his back yesterday, let's just leave it at that.

Celebrate while you can Texans fans. After the upcoming bye week, the Texans take on Andy Dalton and the Bengals on Monday Night Football. Barring some miracle, I just don't see that game turning out like the one yesterday. But, this is the NFL and stranger things have happened.
