Ted Nugent’s State of the Union Appearance Lampooned on ‘Saturday Night Live’

Ted Nugent‘s heavily publicized appearance at last week’s State of the Union address caught the attention of NBC’s ‘Saturday Night Live.’ This past Saturday (Feb. 16), the long-running late-night comedy show ran a sketch that took aim at the Motor City Madman.

The segment was designed as a spot on the Fox News Channel morning show, ‘Fox & Friends,’ with Taran Killam, Vanessa Bayer and Bobby Moynihan portraying hosts Steve Doocy, Gretchen Carlson and Brian Kilmeade. Following a few words about the State of the Union, they brought on “Nugent,” who was played by Bill Hader, to talk about his experience on Capitol Hill.

Dressed in a brown jacket and cowboy hat and affecting a flat Michigan accent, Hader attempted to describe himself in one word and gave his opinion of President Barack Obama’s speech. The sketch closed with Fred Armisen as a British official discussing the horsemeat scandal and a scrolling list of corrections.

Its subject, however, was none too pleased with their attempt. This morning, Ted Nugent wrote the following response on Twitter.
