"There's nothing for kids to do around here." You hear it all the time in Victoria, especially if you're a parent. Well, that's not exactly true. We do have a myriad of parks around the city, and if you're a skateboarder, or just like watching some kids with skills, then stop by the Victoria Skatepark,  located by Victoria Community Center.  Ceck out this video, and see what I mean. Oh, and the music is pretty cool, too.

How is Curbside Recycling Affecting Your Home?

Curbside recycling came to our fair city just a few short months ago, and based on what happens in our home, it has made a huge difference. First of all, we have 3 teenage boys, 2 adults, and a few dogs and cats living in our house, but to tell you the truth, there may be a few I don't even know about. Pets, that is. The point being, that we used to throw away quite a lot of trash. So much in facr, that we opted to pay the extra $5 a month to have an additional trash bin to use.

The Filthiest Restrooms In Victoria – Harley’s Top Five

Finally, I get to write about one of my favorite subjects. Filthy, Public Restrooms. In particular, filthy, public restrooms...in Victoria, The best/worst. The funniest/saddest. In General, the public restroom is the embodiment of the dualistic nature of all that is human. What? Sorry if I got a little deep on you there. What I mean, is that you love them for the very same reasons you hate them. Ever smelled something so foul in a public restroom, that all you can do is laugh hysterically? I have. Ever seen something so shockingly vile in a restroom, that you had to take a picture so people would believe you? Yep, me too. The top five filthiest restrooms in Victoria is a personal list of mine. I'm sure I'm leaving several off though. So feel free to respond and either debunk my list or add to it. Give me a personal experience, relating to a filthy, public restroom here in our fair burg. So without pointing fingers, here's my list:

“You Know You’re from Victoria When…”

The question came up around the office recently about how you know where you come from. You may have been born in another city or another state but does that actually mean you’re from that locale? What if your parents moved from the city you were born in before you were old enough to even remember it? Wouldn’t the city you grew up in, the one that determined what type of person you would be when you became an adult, be the city you’re from?

As always, we didn’t feel comfortable keeping our debate to ourselves and decided to share it with our readers. Below you’ll find a list of 20 definitive items that will help you determine if you’re from Victoria. Answer yes to one and you won’t have to wonder anymore.

Bring Your Boots to the Water Park ???

I guess you won't be able to after all. Because "THEY" don't want Victoria to have a waterpark. You know, something that people might actually travel TO Victoria for from surrounding areas. But nobody will come to Victoria for a waterpark, right? Try telling that to people in the metropolis of Sheridan, TX.
