Naomi Watts Leads a Sexy Double-Life in Netflix ‘Gypsy’ Trailer

We’re admittedly on edge with Netflix’s sudden willingness to limit its content, but a seductive new psychological thriller from Naomi Watts and 50 Shades of Grey director Sam Taylor-Johnson offers a good start. Watch the first trailer for Gypsy, as Watts gets more than a little hands-on with her patients.

‘Orange Is the New Black’ Gets Graphic Stop-Motion Series Recap

It’s Orange Is the New Black day, as Season 5 finally gets its (official) release from behind Netflix bars. Four seasons is a lot to binge before diving into new episodes, however, so revisit the entire series with a new stop-motion recap that doesn’t hold back on any of the more NSFW content.

Noomi Rapace Goes Full ‘Orphan Black’ in the First Trailer for ‘Seven Sisters’

One of the few upsides of living in our current political climate is the uptick in dystopian film and television we’re about to see. From the successful run of The Handmaid’s Tale on Hulu to HBO’s planned adaptation of Fahrenheit 451, we are quite possibly entering in a new golden age of dystopian fiction, with every screenwriter who ever jotted down an idea about a broken society pitching their brains out with their original idea. That may not seem like much of a silver lining, but hey, it’s better than nothing!

New Netflix Instant Releases: June 2017

It’s that time again: time to round up everything coming and going from all the streaming services at the start of the new month. Netflix has a pretty fantastic slate for this June, which includes their Cannes contender Okja, directed by Bong Joon-ho and starring Tilda Swinton and Jake Gyllenhaal. There’s also a few popular 2016 releases like Xavier Dolan’s It’s Only the End of the World, and Catfight, that movie about Sandra Oh and Anne Heche beating the living daylights out of each other. And if you want to hear a bunch of animated plants sing Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence,” give Trolls a shot.

Michael Shannon Bigfoot Dramedy Is Now a Glorious Thing That Is Happening

Aside from behaving like a normal, un-intimidating human being, there’s nothing Michael Shannon can’t do. When stuck in waiting rooms or the like, a fun way to pass the time is imagining Shannon taking over the lead role in any movie. It’s a can’t-fail formula for success: Jaws, but the shark is Michael Shannon? I’m there. Mulholland Dr., but Michael Shannon takes over both of Naomi Watts’ parts? Two tickets, please. A Transformers movie where Shannon appears in place or the giant alien robot? That would actually somehow make more sense. So when you see a headline that says “Michael Shannon bigfoot dramedy,” you can pretty much stop reading.

The ‘Workaholics’ Boys Suit Up and Light Up in ‘Game Over, Man!’ Teaser

On the long-running Comedy Central slacker sitcom Workaholics, bros-for-life Anders Holm, Blake Anderson, and Adam DeVine made no bones about their affinity for recreational marijuana use. But for those fans who had their healthy sense of skepticism, suspecting that it may all be an act for the sake of creating an onscreen persona, the Workaholics boys are back to re-affirm that they really and sincerely do love getting high. Just to prove it to you, all three actors light up in the teaser for their latest on-screen outing, and what’s more, they’re releasing it on April 20 of next year. As in, 4/20. Which is a weed thing.

Because We’re in the Future Now, A.I. Is Starting to Choose Our Movies for Us

Growing up means realizing that we don’t live in the Jetsons’ version of the future, with instant meals and flying cars, but one that’s run by data and analytics. Hollywood has been inching into the data game, as companies develop software that has the ability to use information from a screenplay or a trailer to predict box office ticket sales. In the future, robots might be choosing our movies for us. It’s already happening now.

Netflix Says Users Have Watched 500 Million Hours of Adam Sandler Movies

One of Netflix’s biggest deals so far in the original movie space was with Adam Sandler, who signed on to make four films with the streaming service, and then recently re-upped with the online media titan for another four masterpieces. Maybe you have seen some of their collaborations so far, The Ridiculous 6, The Do-Over, and the just-released Sandy Wexler. If the figures Netflix just released are accurate, the odds are you have.
