Elton John has made his first public appearance since falling “violently ill” last month – and he took the opportunity to slam the “MTV generation” for their lack of musical ability.

The Scream franchise certainly lost its steam with a third film, so might the MTV series follow suit? But A24 has their sights set on a different kind of nostalgia with plans to revisit the golden age of MTV with James Ponsoldt, the director of The Spectacular Now and last year’s acclaimed drama The End of the Tour.

Although the 2016 MTV Movie Awards won’t air until tonight, the awards actually took place on Saturday night, April 9, and we have the full list of nominees and winners — you know, just in case you’re feeling particularly antsy or won’t be around to watch the awards because you have actual plans (like watching Vinyl, or something). Unsurprisingly, Star Wars: The Force Awakens was (or is?) the big winner of this year’s awards, but Deadpool also pulled in a couple of golden popcorn trophies.

No good horror thrill is without its jump-scares, and MTV’s Scream Season 2 will honor the tradition. Just when you thought the next stab would arrive on May 31, the Season 2 premiere leaps out ahead of schedule, with a brand-new teaser to boot.

The Oscars can be very confusing and frustrating. So, if you're looking for an alternative, look no further than the MTV Movie Awards, which unveiled their 2015 nominations today. Oddly, they too are confusing and frustrating, albeit for completely different reasons.

It may only be Wednesday, but here's a throwback for you. It's video shot sometime between 1985 and 1990 of Stevie Ray Vaughan and his band getting some lunch in New Orleans. It was apparently a video from MTV, since VJ Alan Hunter is conducting the interview, and among the servers is Stevie's own mother. Pretty rare video for sure.

I didn't get a chance to watch the VMAS last night, but then again, I haven't watched MTV since the 80's. I think we all know MTV is basically the last place you'll find anything rock these days. I did look for the results online this morning though, and ran across this little gem that pretty much sums up what you might have missed.
