The family of founding AC/DC guitarist Malcolm Young has confirmed reports that the musician is suffering from dementia, a condition that has forced him to retire permanently from the legendary rock group.
Although AC/DC singer Brian Johnson just revealed in a new interview that the band would not be breaking up, AC/DC have just released their first official statement addressing the reports that have surfaced over the past few days. The band states that guitarist Malcolm Young will be "taking a break from the band due to ill health," but also makes it clear that AC/DC will continue to make music.
In a new interview, AC/DC bassist Cliff Williams offers an update on new AC/DC material. While the band has not hit the studio yet, Williams says the group's legendary guitarists Angus and Malcolm Young are currently crafting new songs for the band's next album.
