Well, if it worked for Sleepy Hollow and Bones, surely Brooklyn Nine-Nine and New Girl should have no trouble sharing the screen, right? We’ll find out this fall, as the latter two comedies take part in what appears to be FOX’s yearly crossover, bringing Zooey Deschanel and her loftmates to Brooklyn.

The Simpsons still has a few surprises left in its old age, and after going live this past season, Springfield will chart a new frontier: the full hour! After 28 years, America’s favorite family will run a full hour-long episode for the very first time, with special guest Taraji P. Henson and more.

FOX’s one-time breakout hit Sleepy Hollow never quite regained its head after Season 1, but the Season 3 exit of leading star Nicole Beharie seemed like a killing blow for the occult thriller. Season 4 will continue the the ride, however, as Sleepy Hollow now sets a Scully-type co-anchor for Ichabod Crane to replace Abbie Mills, along with a flurry of overhauls.

Once the nostalgia abated, FOX’s X-Files revival pretty quickly started to sour fans by its awkward mix of mythology and stand-alone episodes, as well a cliffhanger ending that immediately demanded resolution. Well, strap in for another long wait, as FOX won’t get around to an X-Files Season 11 until at least 2017.

Sleepy Hollow fandom found itself in an understandable uproar by the Season 3 finale seemingly killing off co-lead Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie), an essential chemistry that made the series possible in the first place. A fourth season subsequently seemed a longshot, but now those crazy FOX folk have decided to give it a try, renewing Sleepy Hollow to go solo in Season 4.

And so, it begins. FOX already got the ball rolling on its new 2016 series with the order of 24: Legacy, and now a number of other reboots have taken hold. Not only has the new take on The Exorcist gotten an official greenlight, so too has the Lethal Weapon reboot, Lord and Miller’s time-travel comedy, a baseball drama and more.

The Simpsons has had plenty of chances to experiment in its 27+ years, but will venture surprisingly modern (as in to the second) with an upcoming “live” segment animated by motion-capture. A first look at the new clip has arrived, but will The Simpsons ever stage an entirely live episode?

FOX hasn’t issued terribly many renewals for the 2016-17 season as of yet, but fans of half-hour comedies from SNL alum are in good hands. Not only will The Last Man on Earth continue not to be the last man on Earth through 2017, so too will Brooklyn Nine-Nine remain open.

However unevenly, The X-Files’ 2016 revival all been building toward the coming finale “My Struggle II,” finally picking up with the premiere revelations and a return to alien mythology. The full photo set has arrived, returning both old and new series stars alike, but a familiar question arises - Where’s Mulder?

Twenty-seven seasons in, The Simpsons still needs to stay topical, an especially difficult feat given the animation process’ long lead time. Well, consider The Simpsons more relevant than ever, up to the moment even, as May will see the long-running FOX staple experimenting with a live segment.

Whatever your feelings on FOX’s Gotham, we’re at least curious to see how the Bat-prequel handles two of the Dark Knight’s most iconic rogues, Mr. Freeze and Hugo Strange. We met the former briefly last year, and now his reign of icy terror continues in our first 2016 promo for Season 2’s return.

24 already had its X-Files revival moment with 24: Live Another Day, and FOX seems about ready to start a whole new chapter with 24: Legacy. As such, our new Jack Bauer has already arrived, as Straight Outta Compton and The Walking Dead star Corey Hawkins takes the lead role of the new series.
