Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin each won an award at the Grammys' annual Pre-Telecast Ceremony this evening. Which is something that probably should have happened in 1974, but whatever we'll take it.

We recently published an open letter to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, asking them to consider some of the greatest hard rock + metal acts ever for induction. But now we point our dissatisfaction at the 2014 Grammy Awards, which took place Sunday night, Jan. 26, and featured one rock and metal snub after another.

Congrats are in order for Black Sabbath, who took home the 2014 Grammy for Best Metal Performance on Sunday (June 26) for their song 'God Is Dead?' It was a solid category this year, but the metal godfathers emerged victorious.

You may have seen a TV ad (watch above) for the upcoming movie '300: Rise of an Empire' and heard a familiar song. It's Black Sabbath's classic tune 'War Pigs.' The track gets even more exposure starting at the 1:10 mark in the theatrical trailer for the film (watch below).
