Status Quo guitarist Rick Parfitt has been laid to rest with a "gig-themed" funeral that found his surviving bandmates arriving in a tour bus.

The Daily Mail reports that roughly 80 of Parfitt's friends, peers and loved ones were in attendance at the service, which took place at the crematorium in his hometown of Woking, Surrey. Calling it a "rock star's farewell," the report notes that the current Status Quo lineup — led by Parfitt's longtime partner Francis Rossi and including Richie Malone, who joined when health concerns sidelined Parfitt last year — showed up, along with all three of Parfitt's ex-wives.

The service, which opened with Frank Sinatra's "My Way" and included an airing of Parfitt's final composition, titled "Over and Out," included some works from Parfitt's son, Rick Junior. Spandau Ballet singer Tony Hadley was in attendance, and shared his thoughts with the Daily Mail.

"The service was very moving because of his son Rick Jr.," said Hadley. "I spoke to him just week before his dad passed away and as he said in the service, 'My dad is writing all this new material and really enthusiastic about stuff.' And I said, 'Ah, great, I'm glad your dad's all right,' because he had a couple of stents put in ... and then this happens. It's just horrible and very sad."

As previously reported, Parfitt died in late December, succumbing to what a rep described as a "severe infection" stemming from a shoulder injury sustained in a fall. Parfitt, who was 68 at the time of his passing, had a history of heart trouble, and was forced to exit the lineup last October after suffering a heart attack.

Status Quo remain on the road, where they're booked throughout Europe for much of this year.
