Spurs on a Roll Completing Series Sweep Routing Lakers, 103-82
Tony Parker scored 23 points, and the San Antonio Spurs beat the Los Angeles Lakers, 103-82, in Los Angeles on Sunday to complete a four-game sweep of their best-of-seven, first-round NBA playoff series. Tim Duncan added 11 points and six rebounds for the Spurs, who await the winner of the Denver Nuggets - Golden State Warriors series in the second round.
Pau Gasol led the Lakers with 16 points and eight rebounds. Lakers' center Dwight Howard scored seven points before getting ejected in the third quarter for arguing. Los Angeles played without Kobe Bryant, who tore his Achilles tendon just prior to the post-season, and guard Steve Nash and forward Metta World Peace. It's the second time in three years Los Angeles has been swept from the NBA playoffs. Go Spurs!
