In anticipation of rising flood waters coming through Victoria, Crews have set up cones and barricades on Spring Creek Rd. at the edge of Victoria Country Club.

The highest flooding of the Guadalupe River is expected to push through Victoria Friday afternoon at 29.6 feet and remain through mid-day Saturday. Flood waters will be moving at more than 30,000 cubic feet per second which doesn't take a genius to figure out is not safe for ANY recreational activity so BE CAREFUL and think twice before deciding to brave that kind of water flow....it's not worth it.

The Guadalupe will continue to be at 29.8 feet (give or take an inch or two) until mid-day Saturday.

There are several roads closed in Victoria and surrounding areas however a few rumors to put to bed are:

Moody Street bridge is NOT.....repeat NOT closed and is not expected to close at any point during the influx of river waters.

The dam in Cuero did NOT fail because, quite simply, a dam in Cuero does NOT exist. Which would probably explain it's "failure"

Loop 463 bridge did experience a log jam...however, it just didn't jam hard enough to cause any damage so the bridge is and will continue to rock on.

Canyon Lake, a flood control lake, is full. However, the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority, which controls the lake, is so excited that the lake is full it plans to hold on to all the water until the flood waters around the region recede and even then, there are no promises they will share their water with the rest of us.

So there you have it. Another road closure, some flood water information, and rumors that need to be put out of their misery. NO DAMN EXISTS IN CUERO PEOPLE....stop trying to invent one.

Most importantly, if you are in or near a flood prone area please continue to monitor flood situations carefully and often as sometimes information changes and we here at Townsquare Media are working to get info out as fast as possbile but it may take a little time because we strive to make sure the info going out is accurate and we do not pass on hearsay or rumors.

Please BE CAREFUL!!
