Special Night for Close to 100 People at Special Needs Prom

This past Friday was a very special night for about 100 special people. It was time for the 2015 Special Needs Prom hosted by Connect 2 Autism and JP Productions DJ Services at the Victoria All-Star Dance Academy.

A clothing drive and a slew of volunteer dance partners, make-up artists, hair stylists and others made the prom night possible for 75 people with some sort of special need or disability.

JP, from our sister station KIXS 108's morning show donated his time and was the DJ for the evening's festivities. JP has plans to sponsor the event again next year. Good on ya JP!

Although prom is usually a tradition reserved to high school students, Friday night's dance also included adults with special needs.

Thanks to the efforts of a few people, Friday night was made special for some very special people. My hat's off to them.
