Congrats to Slash, who will receive the inaugural 'Guitar Legend Award' honor at the first annual Gibson Brands AP Music Awards. The honor is being presented by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and will be one of the highlights of the ceremony, which is taking place at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum at North Coast Harbor in Cleveland on July 21.

The timing is perfect for Slash, who is just about to hit the road in support of his upcoming studio album, 'World on Fire.' Slash recently checked in from the band's rehearsal space with a pair of updates suggesting that the rehearsals were coming to an end and he was ready to rock out with Aerosmith on the "Let Rock Rule" tour this summer.

The first photo comes from a recent session in late June where Myles Kennedy took a breather and Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins dropped by to hang out. Hawkins reportedly stepped up to the mic to lead Slash and The Conspirators on a rendition of 'Nighttrain' during rehearsals. Check out the photo below.

The second shot comes from the band's final day of rehearsals on Sunday (July 6), with Slash and his bandmates posing for a photo (seen below) after finishing up the session. The Slash and Aerosmith "Let Rock Rule" tour launches July 10 at Jones Beach in New York. Dates can be found here, but don't expect any Texas dates, at least not yet.

In other Slash news, the rocker has been taking fan questions in an online video series titled #AskSlash. The past two episodes can be found here and here. As for the 'World on Fire' disc, it's on schedule for a Sept. 16 release and can be pre-ordered via iTunes.

In related AP Music Awards News, organizers have just added Falling in Reverse to the performance lineup for the July 21 ceremony. Pierce the Veil, New Found Glory and Mayday Parade have also been confirmed to make appearances at the event. Tickets for the AP Music Awards can be purchased at this location.
