Slash To Receive Prestigious Les Paul Award

Slash, who has received numerous accolades over his long career, will need to make room in his trophy case for another award. He has been selected as the recipient of the Les Paul Award, which will be presented during the 30th annual NAMM Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards.

The awards ceremony will be held Jan. 24, 2015 in Anaheim, Calif. Comedian Sinbad will host the festivities, which honors individuals and companies in 30 different categories for outstanding achievement in professional audio technology and production.

The Les Paul Award, named after the pioneering inventor and musician, was first awarded in 1991 and honors individuals or institutions that have set the highest standards of excellence in the creative application of audio and music technology. Slash will join past winners including Pete Townsend, Paul McCartney, Brian Wilson, Stevie Wonder, Neil Young, Todd Rundgren, and Peter Gabriel.

Slash's latest album 'World on Fire' debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200 chart when it was released in September. The title track topped the Mainstream Rock singles chart. Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators are currently on tour, and will wrap up their 2014 schedule Dec. 6 in Reykjavik, Iceland. They also have dates booked worldwide in 2015.
