Guitar legend Slash visited the Ultimate Classic Rock offices recently to talk about a variety of topics, including his upcoming guest appearance on the new album from former Guns N’ Roses pal Steven Adler.

While he’s understandably focused on his new album, ‘Apocalyptic Love,’ which features the well-received new single ‘You’re a Lie,’ Slash understands that people are going to want to talk to him about topics such as this guest spot. As he tells us, “Next to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, that’s the most popularly asked question.”

Slash seemed eager and happy to help his friend launch his new band: “He (Adler) called me and told me he was working on a record… Actually Jeff Pilson (Dokken, Foreigner), who’s producing his record, called me and told me he was doing something. And then Steven subsequently called me and so yeah, I said that I’d come up there and put something on it.”

It also sounds like the process didn’t get needlessly bogged down in the recording process. “They sent me the song first — it was a really good song — and I went over to Jeff’s house. He’s got a studio where they’re making this record at and I put some guitars on it.” Yes, it’s just that easy, if you’re as well-practiced and insanely talented at your craft as Slash!

Our hard rock / metal brethren over at Loudwire got to speak to Slash for most of our time together, discussing ‘Apocalyptic Love,’ his recent zoo commercials with Betty White and much more. We highly suggest that you read their full interview.
