At Friday night's (April 8) Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Sheryl Crow and Grace Potter honored the late Glenn Frey with a special surprise performance.

Crow and Potter sang "New Kid in Town," a song from the Eagles' 1976 album, Hotel California. Crow and a second guitarist played the tune as Crow took on lead vocals and Potter added beautiful harmonies. Press play above to watch.

"New Kid in Town" was written by Don Henley, Frey and JD Souther, and became a No. 1 hit follow its release as Hotel California's first single. The song also won a Grammy.

Frey died on Jan. 18 at the age of 67 due to complications from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis and pneumonia. In 2014, the artist helped induct Linda Ronstadt into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with an induction speech and a collaborative performance. As a member of the Eagles, Frey was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.

Crow and Potter's tribute to Frey was the second surprise tribute of the evening: David Byrne, Kimbra and the Roots began the 2016 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony with a surprise tribute to David Bowie, a version of the icon's 1975 No. 1 hit “Fame.” The Hall of Fame's Class of 2016 included Deep Purple, Steve Miller, Chicago and Cheap Trick.
