See Images and Video from Riverdogs’ First Concert in Over a Decade
Frontiers Music hosted its first annual Holiday Bash on Dec. 2, with a lineup that featured a number of acts from the label's roster — including the reunited Riverdogs, taking the stage together for the first time in 13 years.
The band, promoting the recent California LP, ended an extended hiatus when they reconvened the Riverdogs' original lineup — including guitarist Vivian Campbell, familiar to rock fans as a future Lou Gramm collaborator and eventual member of Def Leppard. Campbell, who's also juggling activity with some of his fellow Dio vets in Last in Line, somehow managed to carve out time for yet another project — and as he told Guitar World, he feels like the California sessions produced some of his best work.
"After all these years, I’m finally getting it down, finally finding my style. There’s a couple of songs where I really let it rip," Campbell said. "There’s a lot more solo stuff, too. God, any of the songs. I’m more than happy with what I played. I think it’s totally appropriate for the intent of the songs and of the band."
Naturally, plenty of the people in attendance at Frontiers' Holiday Bash at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, Calif., managed to capture images and video from the Riverdogs' set, and the band's official social media feed posted its own commemoration of the gig.
