Vocalist Scott Weiland took a few shots at his former Velvet Revolver bandmates, in a new book just released this week. The book is called Not Dead and Not for Sale, and in it the supergroup's former frontman said he joined the band for the money, but he said they did have chemistry.

Despite that chemistry, Weiland described the band as "sounding like Bad Company", a band that he never liked. The singer added “I can’t call it the music of my soul. There was a certain commercial calculation behind it.”

Weiland is now back in Stone Temple Pilots, and Velvet Revolver continues it's search for a new singer. Any takers?

Sounding like Bad Company? Not even. Personally, I thought VR had some great stuff. Perhaps a few sour grapes at work here?
