I want to make sure everyone knows about the big event at The Texas Zoo this weekend. This Saturday is Gator Day featuring Gary Saurage of CMT’s Gator 911!

Gary Saurage is co-owner of Gator Country as well as the head alligator handler featured on CMT's GATOR 911. Saurage settled in Beaumont, Texas after a tour in the US Air Force where he started an 18 year career in law enforcement. Saurage then started a successful alligator guide/hunting service, which in turn led him to becoming a a conservationist and champion for the American alligator.

As a result, he built Gator Country, a 15 acre reservation for alligators, crocodiles, and snakes. Saurage has participated in many studies on the American Alligator and he holds one of only a few nuisance alligator hunting permits in the state of Texas.

Saurage currently resides in Beaumont, Texas with his gators, Mo & Chubbs, and his two children, Callie & Kyle.

I hope you all can make it to Gator Day at the Texas Zoo admission is only $10 adults, $8 children, Zoo Members free. Shows start at 10 am, 12 noon, and 2pm. Exciting alligator activities throughout the day at the Zoo will be happening for the kids.
