Fans of Santana are getting an early Christmas present this year. Three of the band's concert films are streaming for free today at Qello as part of the site's Free Music Fridays campaign.

The three movies all stem from performances the band has given at Montreux in the past decade. ‘Greatest Hits: Live at Montreux 2011’ finds the band tearing through classics like ‘Black Magic Woman,’ ’Samba Pa Ti’ and ‘Smooth.’ There are also covers of John Coltrane’s ’A Love Supreme’ and Cream’s ‘Sunshine of Your Love.’ Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi make special guest appearances.

The other two concerts were recorded in 2004. ‘Carlos Santana Plays Blues at Montreux 2004’ finds the guitar legend jamming with Buddy Guy, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown and Bobby Parker on 11 blues cuts for 90 minutes. Nile Rodgers and Barbara Morrison also show up. ‘Hymns for Peace’ shows Santana exploring his jazzier side, working with longtime associates Wayne Shorter, John McLaughlin and Chick Corea. The three-hour concert includes such anthems as ‘Blowin’ in the Wind,’ ‘What’s Going On’ and ‘Imagine.’

An account at Qello costs $4.99 per month, which offers access to their vast and diverse assortment of concert films and music documentaries. For more information, visit their website.
