The Texas Rangers edged the Oakland A's 5-4 in extra innings last night, thanks to a bean ball that hit Rougned Odor with the bases loaded in the 10th that forced the winning run.

Oakland gambled with an intentional walk of Adrian Beltre to load up the bases, before Odor was hit in the shoulder on the very next pitch. The win gives the Rangers another game lead in the American League West, after 2nd place Seattle lost to the L.A. Angels 7-6.

Meanwhile in Houston, the Astros lost ground in the division after an 8-5 loss at thehands of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Dallas Keuchel took over for starter Jaime Garcia, who didn't fare very well, giving up 5 runs and 7 hits over 5 innings. The loss marks the Astros 3rd in a row, as they remain solidly in 3rd place at 9 games out of 1st.
