Mark Sanchez had 332 yards passing and two touchdowns, and the Eagles crushed the Carolina Panthers, 45-21, in Philadelphia on Monday night. Replacing the injured Nick Foles, Sanchez won his first start since 2012 — when he was still with the New York Jets.

Philadelphia (7-2) used two Darren Sproles' touchdowns in the first quarter — a 65-yard punt return and an 8-yard TD run — to help build a commanding 31-7 halftime lead.

The Eagles defense sacked Cam Newton nine times and forced five Carolina turnovers. Newton finished with 306 yards passing, two meaningless late touchdowns to Kelvin Benjamin and three interceptions.

Philadelphia rookie wide receiver Jordan Matthews caught seven passes for 138 yards and two scores. Eagles defensive lineman Connor Barwin had 3.5 sacks.

Tight end Greg Olsen had six catches for 119 yards for the Panthers (3-6-1).
