In 2012, there were 964 reports of domestic violence to law enforcement in Victoria County. That means that on average, peace officers responded to two to three calls per day from a Victorian who was being threatened, beaten or otherwise abused by a current or previous domestic or dating partner. However, the incidence of domestic violence is actually much higher as many victims do not call for help but suffer alone.

Please show your concern for victims of domestic violence by wearing the color purple on October 1st. For more information call Mid-Coast Family Services at 361-575-7842

And if you are experiencing domestic violence and need to talk to someone. Call the crisis hotline at 361-573-4357. It is answered 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
