New Movies in Victoria: ‘Devil’s Due,’ ‘Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit,’ ‘The Nut Job,’ ‘Ride Along’
Oscar nominations came out Thursday morning, with films like ‘American Hustle’ and ’12 Years a Slave’ leading the way. You can probably bet that none of this weekend’s new releases will figure into next year’s Oscars, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be something you like. The four films this weekend cover a wide range of genres and styles, a little something for everyone.

Sort of a Jack Ryan origin story, this film marks the return of the Tom Clancy-created CIA analyst, in the story of how he got his start at the CIA and the first (of many) major global threat he helped stop.

One for the kids, this animated adventure tells the story of two friends, a squirrel and a rat, and how their ingenious plan to steal nuts goes awry.
