You read that right. After what seems like years of hearing rumors about a new Ghostbusters movie it seems like the project has finally been given the green light to proceed...complete with a writer.

Katie Dippold, who wrote the Melissa Macarthy/Sandra Bullock comedy "The Heat" will pen a script for the upcoming reboot and to be honest....I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Growing up with the original movies and cast it's always hard when someone wants to come in and change things up but let's face it...with Harold Ramis (Egon) passing away earlier this year and Bill Murray dead set against making another one that would have only left Dan Aykroyd (Ray) and Ernie Hudson (Winston) left to carry the movie and that would never work.

Enter Paul Feig...the new reboot's director. He directed "The Heat" and "Bridesmaids" which is where the new project loses my interest. I don't mind that they're going with an almost all female cast. However, I fear it's just going to be Bridesmaids with proton packs....and I'm not OK with that.

We shall see what happens. No word on a release date.
