The annual Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival has a diverse lineup every year, but the event is not known for having a lot of metal acts. You're more likely to see hip-hop artists like 2 Chainz, Snoop Dogg and Wu-Tang Clan or indie and alt rock bands like Mumford & Sons, Black Keys and Radiohead. But in 2014,  will be performing at Coachella.

The 2014 edition of the festival will take place over two weekends: April 11-13 and April 18-20 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, Calif. The full lineup for this year's festival has not yet been officially released, but Motorhead's appearance was announced via the following tweet:

The video for Motorhead's 'Ace of Spades' is also playing on the official Coachella website. 2013 was an up and down year for Motorhead. It saw the release of their critically acclaimed album 'Aftershock,' which debuted at No. 22 on the Billboard album chart. But, the year was also filled with health problems for frontman Lemmy Kilmister, and the band had to cancel several tour dates because of it.

2014 looks to be a good one for Motorhead, with Lemmy on the mend, and even planning a solo album. He spills a few details about the album: “Right now, we’re thinking of calling it ‘False Teeth for the Deaf.’ It’s all just great rock ‘n’ roll, that’s the only way to describe it. Some of it is bluesy and some isn’t. It’s not Motorhead, but obviously there are elements in common.”

The band has also rescheduled some of the European tour dates that they had to cancel last year. The trek kicks off Feb. 13 in Glasgow, Scotland and winds up March 14 in Helsinki, Finland.
