Motley Crue will apparently follow in the footsteps of fellow classic rockers Elton John and Rod Stewart when they begin a residency in Las Vegas next year. The Las Vegas Sun reports a deal with the Hard Rock Hotel will be announced before Thanksgiving.

Very few details are known about the group’s series of shows, other than it would begin towards the end of February and include three of four shows a week for a month. The Crue should be well-rehearsed for the gig as they’ll close 2011 with a tour of Britain, including a Dec. 14 show at Wembley Stadium.

This deal would be a sweet one for lead singer Vince Neil as Las Vegas is his hometown. This year marks the 30th anniversary of Motley Crue, and Neil, Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee and Mick Mars are celebrating with a major tour with Def Leppard and by re-releasing their book ‘The Dirt — Confessions of the World’s Most Notorious Rock Band.’
