Ronnie Montrose’s First-Ever Live DVD Scheduled for Release
Prostate cancer dominated the last five years of Ronnie Montrose‘s life, but even as he battled the disease, the influential guitarist managed to stay active musically and play his share of gigs.
Filmed Jan. 27 at the Uptown Theatre in Napa, Calif., ‘Live at the Uptown’ finds Montrose performing signature songs as well as more obscure material that he hadn’t played in a long, long time. On the familiar side, the DVD features ‘Rock the Nation,’ ‘Bad Motor Scooter,’ ‘Make It Last’ and ‘Good Rockin’ Tonight,’ all of which first appeared on the self-titled Montrose band album from 1973 (when Sammy Hagar was a member of the group).
‘Live at the Uptown’ will be available as a standard DVD and in two editions with posters. Shipping begins on May 1, and you can visit Ronnie’s site to order your copy.
