Man Assaults Woman With His Hot Meat

Titles can be deceiving. However, this is exactly what happened at a Kentucky BBQ cookoff this past weekend.

Apparently Mike Owings, a competitor in the cookoff, has been charged with endangerment for having a dispute with a female competitor and instead of talking it out, he grabbed a 250 degree brisket off the smoker and assaulted the woman with it by throwing it at her. Striking her in the head neck and should area.

The victim's name has not been released pending further investigation. However, it's always my goal at a BBQ cookoff to sample as much of the meats as possible and if someone threw a whole brisket at me I'd be elated. Thankful even. Let's face it...those things are expensive.
