Fans of the Back to the Future franchise were chomping at the bit a few weeks ago to get their hands on a piece of nostalgia. A bottle of Pepsi Perfect. The bottle ordered by Marty McFly in the future. 2015 to be exact. Well, that release was marred with controversy as it seems Amazon and Walmart jumped the gun and offered the bottle an hour before they were supposed to causing it to sell out before it was ever officially "released". Pepsi attempted to make good by offering a couple of hundred more bottles that morning but they were sold out in a matter of minutes. Again, Pepsi tried to make good by offering another re-release of Pepsi Perfect in a limited release of 6500 bottles this morning via their online shop. Well.....that didn't go well either.

It appeared that Pepsi didn't anticipate the huge amount of traffic to their website and their store was immediately inundated and the server shut down defaulting to their backup site.....again, Amazon.

Amazon apparently wasn't ready either and just by chance some fans were able to find it on Amazon and snatch up whatever bottles were left. By time Pepsi's page was back up and running.....it was 6 minutes after all bottles had been sold out.

For me, I really couldn't care less. It's a bottle of soda after all. But, for fans....true fans of the movies, I feel bad. This is the 2nd time Pepsi released these special edition bottles and the 2nd time the release was botched by something.

If you ask me, I think Pepsi should just open it up for just 1 day only. Take advance orders and fulfill those orders as soon as they can. But that's just me. It could make the company millions and probably would without a doubt. Guess they just don't like money.

I'm gonna go have a coke now :)
