The Texas Nurses Association, District 20, is hosting its Fourth Annual Golf Tournament on Sept. 7 at the Victoria Country Club.

Registration for the four-person scramble begins at 11:30 a.m. and tee time is 12:30 p.m.

The tournament funds scholarships for nursing students in the region, which includes Victoria, Lavaca, DeWitt, Goliad, Calhoun, Matagorda, Jackson and Wharton counties.

This fall, six $600 scholarships will be awarded. The deadline to apply is Oct. 1. Since its inception, the golf tournament has raised $14,400 for nursing students, said Debbie Pena, organization spokeswoman.

The entry fee is $400 per team and includes cart rental, green fees, range balls, food and drinks.

Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places, as well as straightest drive and closest to the pin. Other offerings include a silent auction and blood pressure screenings, Pena said.

The deadline to play in the tournament is Sept. 6. Tournament sponsorships must be confirmed by Sept. 4.
