Well last time I left off was back in November of 2014 with a diagnosis of Systemic Lupus.  I was living with the disease and chronicling my progress through this blog and my facebook pages.  Well, since then things have changed just a bit.  I still have Lupus...nothing has changed there.  However, now I'm fighting a different battle.  Back in February of this year, I was in the hospital for what I believed to be another bad Lupus flare up.  High fever, body aches, swollen painful joints etc.  They ordered a chest x-ray and found a lymph node under my left armpit that looked to be enlarged.  My Rheumatologist immediately ordered the lymph node be surgically removed and biopsied.  Well, fast forward 10 days or so and I get a call from my Doctor telling me I have cancer.  My lymph node tested positive for Hodgkins Lymphoma so now I have a battle on 2 fronts.

I've started chemotherapy here at DeTar hospital and so far it's been good.  No real side effects to speak of.  It doesn't drain me or make me so ill I can't function.  As a matter of fact, as you can see, I've chosen to return to work while I'm on treatment.  It sure beats sitting at home thinking about everything.  At least now I have a reason to get out of the house.  I have gone through 2 chemo treatments already and my 3rd is coming up this Wednesday which I will write about next week so stay tuned.
