When Katy Perry takes the stage for the Super Bowl XLIX halftime show on Feb. 1, she'll bring along some famous friends -- including Lenny Kravitz.

Kravitz -- currently out supporting his 10th LP, 2014's 'Strut' -- was outed as part of the evening's entertainment during an interview between Perry and NBC's Willie Geist, which is set to air today but has already been quoted by Rolling Stone, among other outlets. "My first special guest is going to an incredible rock 'n' roll icon, a guitar god. I’m going to have Lenny Kravitz on the show. He’s got so much style and a certain je ne sais quoi," enthused Perry. "He’s the coolest. He’s the King of Cool. He’s going to make me so much more cooler that day."

It's already widely assumed that Kravitz will join Perry for a rendition of 'American Woman,' the Guess Who classic that he covered in 1999 (and won a Grammy for along the way). Perry played coy, however, saying that they were still "in the process of working it out" and adding, "We'll see."

Of course, Perry isn't on many classic-rock fans' top artist lists, but with Kravitz on board as her "first special guest," perhaps it's worth wondering who else she'll invite to join her on television's biggest stage -- or whether her set will attempt to bridge the pop and rock worlds as eagerly as last year's collaboration between Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
