Jamaican Bob Sled Team Returns to the Winter Olympics!

Remember the 1990's Disney movie Cool Runnings? You remember, John Candy was the coach of a bunch of misfit Jamaican sprinters and comes up with a wild scheme that sprinters would make great bob sledders? Well, that movie was loosely based on actual events and the Jamaicans did make it to the winter olympics back in 1989 in Canada.

And guess what? They're going back! That's right, the Jamaicans qualified in the two-man bobsled competition coming up in Sochi, Russia. Although they lacked the required $80,000 needed to get the team to Russia, the tiny island country quickly rallied around their athletes and raised over $120,000 at last count.

Looks like the Jamaicans will have cool runnings all the way to Sochi. I certainly wish them all the luck in the world!
