I wrote a blog post yesterday about the generosity of Texans. Despite what a financial website said about how far down on the bottom of the list the Lone Star State is ranked for giving to causes, I feel like we are very charitable. I base that on how much people gave to help others recovering from Hurricane Harvey, how successful our St. Jude Radiothon was, and how much I see people giving everyday. That's also backed up by a news release from University of Houston-Victoria that shows the school raised a record $1.1 million in 2016-2017. In fact, that's the second record setting year in a row, with this year up 36%.

The Here We Go fundraising campaign showed amazing support for the university with 931 unique donors raising that much money.  If you'd like to find out more, contact University Advancement at makeagift@uhv.edu or call 361-570-4812.
