It's NFL preseason and most people don't put a lot of stock in wins and losses, since it's a chance for the players to show what they can do in a real game situation. The Houston Texans may have fallen to the Carolina Panthers 27-17 last night but, first round draft pick QB Deshaun Watson showed some nice play.

Watson completed 15 of 25 passes for 179 yards, and he ran for a touchdown showing his mobility.

Watson led Clemson to the ACC Championship and the National Championship last year, and his fans in the Carolinas showed up in droves to cheer his first pro appearance. Tom Savage started the game for the Texans, Watson played close to 3 quarters, and Brandon Weeden came in for mop up duty late in the 4th quarter. So, if I had to judge, I'd say Deshaun Watson could very well be the starter by mid season, if not sooner but, who am I? Just a fan who has high hopes for the Texans season.
