I heard the news this morning and it literally makes me sad. George Martin, the producer that brought the world The Beatles, passed away yesterday at age 90.

The record producer who signed The Beatles and produced more than 700 records with them passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, his manager said.

You may not think I'm old enough to say things like "George helped change my life" at 37 years old....But I will say he shaped my youth just as much as he did any youth in the 60's.

I started listening to The Beatles in 9th grade. I'm a natural historian...sure I like modern music...I love it actually as I'm kind of a metal head and like bands like Godsmack, Slipknot, Mudvayne etc. However, if you take the time to listen to or read interviews of most bands today they will likely say they were influenced in some way shape or form, but The Beatles. So, naturally curious, I started listening to them then...and haven't looked back since.

So Sir George, thank you. Thanks for making music 50 years ago that I still love today. And tell John and George we all miss them terribly.

Rest in peace Sir George.
