The Victoria Generals managed to split their series with the Acadiana Cane Cutters over the weekend with a decisive 7-1 last night at Riverside Stadium.

Pitcher Kris Looper managed another strong outing, going six innings giving up just 1 run, while fanning 4. It was a good game offensively as well, with some power at the plate.Offensively, Kyle Danford was 3 for 3 with 2 RBI's, 2 runs scored and a solo homer. Dayfran Ortiz also hit a solo homer, as he went 1 for 3 on the night.

Pitcher Hayden James would come on in the 9th to seal the 7-1 victory.  The Generals advance to 6-2 for the second half of the season, and currently sit in first place of the TCL standings.

The Generals will be back at Riverside Stadium tomorrow night (July 15)to face off against rival Brazos Valley Bombers in a two game series. First pitch is at 7:05pm for a City Mortgage Group Free Ticket Tuesday. Fans be sure to come on out for some action packed baseball and don’t miss FREE baseball.
