The Victoria Generals kicked off a 2-game series against the Brazos Valley Bombers with a 7-4 win at Riverside Stadium last night, powered by stellar pitching and some hot hitting.

Ty Schlottman went 7 innings giving up only 1 earned run, while Kyle Danford drove in 3 runs on singles.

Relief Pitcher Troy Ward came on for the Generals in the eighth inning, giving up 1 run. Jeff Chesnut came in to finish things off for the Generals in the ninth. Chesnut was a bit shaky, allowing two more runs to score, but held on to ice the win.

With the Win tonight, the Generals take over sole possession of first place in the Texas Collegiate League.

The Generals will conclude their two game home set with the Bombers tonight at 7:35. It will be another free ticket night, this time presented by Invista.

Go Generals!
