The upcoming Fleetwood Mac tribute album, ‘Just Tell Me That You Want Me,’ just keeps getting better with every song that appears. In the latest, British model-turned-singer Karen Elson does a solid job taking on the Mac classic, ‘Gold Dust Woman.’

Elson has the haunting quality that Stevie Nicks brought to the original version of the song, but the arrangement gets a little bluesier with a slide guitar entering the picture. Listen to Elson’s cover of ‘Gold Dust Woman’ below.

Elson was a highly sought after model in the early 2000s when she appeared in the White Stripes video for ‘Blue Orchid.’ She would eventually marry Jack White, although the two are now divorced. But even before making the White connection, she was pursuing a singing career, and contributed backing vocals to a remix of ‘Last Time I Saw Her’ on Robert Plant‘s 2003 album, ‘Dreamland.’

In recent years, Elson has launched her own music career and received primarily positive reviews for her 2010 debut disc, ‘The Ghost Who Walks.’

In addition to Elson’s cover,  ZZ Top‘s Billy Gibbons premiered his version of the Peter Green-era classic ‘Oh Well.’ Then came covers from the Dirty Projectors, Lykke Li, and Best Coast. ‘Just Tell Me That You Want Me: A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac’ arrives Aug. 14.
