First Day of School for Many Crossroads Area Kids

It's no secret that collectively, the drivers of Victoria are...shall we say....less than desirable. But, today is the first day back to school for many kids in the Crossroads and that means SCHOOL ZONES!!!

I know it's hard trying to avoid those idiots that run red lights because they decided to speed up instead of slow down at the impending yellow light but you gotta remain focused. That means you're going to have to allow yourself more time if you happen to drive through one of the seemingly endless school zones in the city. It's not worth the risk of hitting some poor kid because you wanted to sleep an extra 10 minutes this morning.

The only reason I feel compelled to post this is because of past experience. There have been a few times I've personally seen some moron barreling through a flashing posted school zone at 45 or 50 and most of the time I've found it's because they have that device we all simply cannot live without up to their ear.

It's a necessary evil the school zone. We all have to obey what's posted regardless if we want to or not. It's not about us...it's about the reason those speeds are posted...the kids. Let's put away the cell phone and pay attention and for the love of God slow down.
