Faith No More frontman Mike Patton continues to build his resume in the film world. The musician's latest project is serving as a composer for the upcoming horror film, 'The Vatican Tapes.'

Patton's film score will help set the tone for the film, which stars 'Tower Heist' actor Michael Pena and 'Blood Diamond' actor Djimon Hounsou. In recent years, Patton has become increasingly involved in film work and his work this past year on 'The Place Beyond the Pines' is among the eligible film scores for the 86th Annual Academy Awards.

In related news, Patton will discuss the role of music in film and how the worlds of popular music and film composition differentiate in the upcoming Sundance Film Festival panel, 'Collective Conversation: Sound & Vision - A Panel Discussion on Music in Film.'

Actor William H. Macy will moderate the discussion, which will take place Jan. 19 at the Collective in Park City, Utah. The panel will also include Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros' Alexander Ebert, Micachu and the Shapes' Mica Levi and Shudder to Think's Craig Wedren.
